  A great place to stay. peaceful environment, everything was perfect

  From the moment we arrived, we felt we could relax. Everything was perfect. A very peaceful location, with just one other hut away from us. The shepherds hut... read more had everything we needed, even two cold beers and chocolates in the fridge. The hot tub was made up ready for us and the sauna was lovely, with views over the lake. The ducks and the black swans became our friends and we enjoyed feeding them and having them waiting for us to wake up and feed them. The hut itself was very clean with everything you could need. Bathroom was lovely with a good hot shower and complimentary shower gel etc and fluffy white towels.
We had a great break and hope to book again soon. Highly recommend if you just want peace quiet and tranquility.

Advice: take your own dressing gown and a spare towel for using the hot tub as they only give you one towel. Take some blankets with you to wrap up in the night whilst enjoying the log fire outside underneath the beautiful star-ey night!

Thought it would be cramped in an attempt to squeeze everything into the hut but it wasn’t at all. There are three huts situated around the lake but they aren’t too close and it still feels private.   Great stay in a nice rural location

  This is an absolutely stunning place to stay. We stayed two nights for such a reasonable price and had the best time (even though the weather was awful). The location... read more is rural and peaceful, there are so many animals on site that come up to your hut each morning and the lake is lovely. The huts are enclosed in their own area, making them feel more secure. It was our first time using a log burner hot tub and we were nervous to use this but it was easy to use as the instructions are really clear. The hot tub was one of the highlights from our stay, we used it even when it was snowing. The hut itself was spotless, tidy and modern. There was a place for everything and it didn’t feel small. There is also a drawer in the kitchen completely full of handy utensils that may need to be used whilst camping. We’re not into fishing so can’t comment on the fishing aspect but the lake is a decent size. I absolutely loved the furnishings inside the hut, it make it so cosy. There is also a bbq, fire pit and sauna that can be used which is a nice addition.

If you’re staying here in the winter months, I would suggest arriving on site prior to it getting dark, as this made it a little difficult for us to get in and work out where things were and I would also suggest bringing a couple of blankets and some slippers because although the heaters are great when they’ve been on for a while, it does take some time for the hut to heat up in the cold weather and the floors can be cold.

Andy and the team were amazing! We were able to communicate easily through air bnb and also through the phone, he was always happy to help if we had any issues despite the fact that I am sure he was busy.
